"I am a fairly new breast cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in March of 2010.  I knew the moment I was diagnosed that giving in to the disease was not an option.  I had just had my first grandchild born in January, and just looking at him was enough to make me fight and fight hard.  Once I got over the initial shock and decided on a course of action, I still had no thoughts of losing my hair.  Then I got the word - chemotherapy - four rounds, which total hair loss.  Well, my good friend recommended I go by Sante, and I've never regretted it.  Diane and her volunteers got me comfortable with the fact of losing my hair and sporting wigs, scarves and even hats.  Once the hair started to go, Diane even gave me a real short style so it wouldn't feel so bad. I'm all through with treatment and reconstruction, and am looking forward to getting my life back to normal - even the new normal that it is.  I take Tamoxefen on a daily basis to prevent the reoccurrence of breast cancer cells, so I feel extremely fortunate in spite of all that I've gone through.  My hair is coming back full force - although extremely curly and totally gray - at least it's mine once again. Thank you to Diane and Sante for making the whole process much more easy to deal with."

"I was diagnosed two years ago with breast cancer. I went thru surgery and chemotherapy. Although there are services available in the community, I wish Sante would have been available at that time. It has everything you need all in one place. It has wonderful products and services available. The staff is compassionate and knowledgeable. It offers comfort, healing, and wellness. Although I am thru my treatment, I enjoy going to Sante and using their products. I am so glad it is a part of our community."

"I was diagnosed with cancer at 47 and among all the challenges to face was hair loss and how I'd cope with that. I ordered my first wig from an on-line vendor. There are hundreds...how do you know what will work? After ordering a wig that wasn't really flattering and really not my color I decided that I'd have to find another option. My hair stylist suggested Santé and it was probably the best advice she ever gave me. I didn't realize there were salon boutiques such as this out there catering to cancer patients. I was so apprehensive about getting a wig and the whole process but Diane was an absolute angel. She made me feel comfortable the minute I walked in. We tried on numerous wigs in a very lovely and discreet alcove until I found one that I simply adored. I love the products they sell and I went back a few weeks later for a second wig. This store treats you with such dignity, compassion, understanding and truly has your best interest as a priority. There is no "push to buy" at any time, just good advice on what you may or may not want and need. During this very difficult time in a woman's life, take the time to visit Santé . You will not regret it, I promise you."

As a recently diagnosed breast cancer patient, I knew that I would need to seek out some resources, such as a wig, a sleeve for traveling, and other necessary items.  I was privileged to have been referred to Sante.  Certainly they had the products I needed, like a wig.  But Sante had more than that...  Sante is operated by people, like Diane Bender, along with such volunteers as Doris and Janice, who have taken the breast cancer journey.  They are positive, upbeat, and great listeners.   I knew I could have my head "buzz cut" at Sante and I would feel ok about taking that step, surrounded by caring folks.  I would not hesitate to recommend Sante to others.  We are fortunate to have such a place in our community!

When I went to try on wigs, my mindset was that I going to have a family member shave my head at home because I didn’t want a ‘stranger’ doing something so personal. As I visited with Diane, I began to relax, and after trying on a few wigs, I asked her to please do the honors. I felt so completely comfortable and secure in her care. Once the ‘trauma’ of the shave was over…which wasn’t too bad after all…I was able to have fun finding my new look with her. I came home to RAVE reviews and had to prove to my family that it really wasn’t my natural hair. Everyone has said I should wear this style when my hair grows back, but personally, I am enjoying the simplicity of the wig care so much, that I am not looking forward to my natural hair’s re-growth anymore and am considering keeping my own hair short and wearing the wig when I want to look finished!

I want to share my thoughts about the Santé Image Renewal Boutique & Salon. I loved finding it right over the location of my KC Cancer Center doctors. The variety of merchandise is wonderful, for example, pink items, scarves, jewelry, socks, compression hosiery, wigs, bras, prosthetics, and a wonderful variety of gift items for friends and family, or yourself.

Pleasant surroundings, lots of mirrors to try on items before purchase, crystal deodorants, several brands and minerals cosmetics, just to name a few of the items for sale. Diane Bender, herself a breast cancer survivor is the most gracious manager and licensed cosmetologist. She was most helpful with her suggestions, and the items that had to be ordered specially arrived in a timely fashion.

It was a delightful place to choose necessary post surgery items, and to purchase some other items just for fun.

I heartily recommend Santé.
